About
I am interested in the relationship between writing, thinking, and intellectual formation, and in the kinds of teaching that help students grow in clarity, confidence, and judgment.
My interest in this work began early. As a child, I loved books and was drawn to language. Over time, that love deepened into a fascination with grammar, style, and the craft of clear expression. In early adulthood, I also began to question the education I had received and to ask why so many years of schooling had not produced the depth of understanding I had expected. That line of inquiry led me into a broader study of education, literacy, and the conditions under which students learn to think well.
In 2020, I founded Rose Writing Center, an online writing program serving students in grades 2–12. I now lead the organization with a focus on admissions, teacher training, and curriculum design. Alongside this work, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Jewish Classical Education at the University of Dallas, where I continue to study literature, philosophy, and the intellectual foundations of teaching and learning. I also write and speak on education, literacy, and the formation of judgment.
Living abroad in Portugal has shaped my perspective both personally and professionally. It has encouraged me to think more intentionally about the kind of life I want to build and the kind of work I want to do: work that is serious, humane, and ordered toward what matters most. Portugal is also where I met my husband, as you can tell from my name. After several meaningful years here, we are preparing to return to New York City and begin our next chapter there.
